Helen Doron English Summer Camp Was a Big Hit with Students

Twenty enthusiastic Helen Doron English students attended an international summer camp in a dreamlike location in the Czech Republic, with ten students from Spain joining 10 students from Czechia, so the only common language was English. Held in a field by scenic Lake Slezska Harta, students slept in tents and started each day with exercises or Yoga plus a stimulating swim in the lake.

Organised and run by the talented Barbora Tošenovská and Marek Halfar, the Czech Helen Doron franchise partners, the exceptional experience included a truly amazing week full of fun activities including every water sport you can imagine, trips to experience the finest in nature, and an exciting radio summer workshop including broadcasting, with TeenBuzz Radio Manager, Richard Freedman.

Following the daily broadcast, time was spent swimming, sailing boats, and kayaking on the lake. The fun times included kayaking to the other side of the lake followed by a stimulating hike.

Another afternoon the campers and staff trekked up an extinct volcano and down the other side to the lake, and another activity was water Olympics on the lake.

Evening programmes included games, bonfires, and a haunted walk in the forest!  All the students said they had the time of their lives, made lasting friendships, and can’t wait to return next year!
