MathRiders understands that to keep students engaged and interested requires a very special teacher. MathRiders teachers not only have appropriate maths expertise, but they have something special — a love of learning and teaching that students respond to. MathRiders teachers teach with excitement and enthusiasm and students develop a genuine love of maths.
Excellent Teachers
Certified MathRiders teachers are the cornerstone of our system for creating confident maths lovers who consistently excel in their school maths classes. All MathRiders teachers receive comprehensive trainings with regular in-service workshops.
Qualifications
Teachers for the youngest ages, 2 to 4, need not have a degree in mathematics, but must have an affinity for maths (math concepts and terminology) and the ability to nurture and motivate young learners. As levels advance, a teacher’s knowledge and mastery of maths must progress. Teachers for the 4-11 age group should have a mathematical/scientific background. Teachers for the older children and teens must have successfully completed the most advanced Helen Doron MathRiders Teacher training courses and have a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field.
Original Materials and Management Tools
MathRiders teachers take advantage of an extensive network of support services to make every class successful. All MathRiders materials for teachers and students are available online for download. You’ll always be able to find the teaching materials you need.
Teacher Training Courses
Comprehensive teacher training is the backbone of the MathRiders programmes. Developed by maths educators, MathRiders Teacher Training courses review the theoretical background of the mathematics to be taught, and provide hands-on experience using our innovative teaching methods and learning materials. Upon completion of specific training courses, MathRiders teachers are ready to start teaching.
External Learning Centre Teacher
The External Learning Centre Teacher (ELCT) offers MathRiders courses in locations outside of the Learning Centre in areas determined by the Master Franchisee or Learning Centre franchisee. The ELCT owns their own business, invests in their own training, purchases learning materials, and pays royalties to the Master Franchisee or Learning Centre franchisee. It is a good lead-in to buying a Learning Studio, a smaller-scale version of a learning centre. Many ELCTs have used this as a stepping stone to building their own careers as MathRiders Master Franchisees or Learning Centre/Learning Studio franchisees.
