Happy Helen Doron Teacher Loves her Career

Kristina Novosel from Zagreb, Croatia is proud to have made a career choice as a Helen Doron teacher. Growing up in a family of 8, only Croatian was spoken at home and her parents weren’t thrilled when she chose to study English language and literature, but as she loves languages and working with children, Kristina held her ground “and I am glad they didn’t influence my decision.

When I finished college, I wanted to work with children, but state schools didn’t seem right. So when I heard there was a school for children that taught English in a native- like environment and job requirements included being creative, making props, being active, singing songs, smiling a lot and basically having fun, I was swept off my feet. I have been a happy Helen Doron teacher for the past 4 years. During this time, I have had groups of all ages, from babies to teens, and they are all special in their own way.

I started learning languages when I was 10 and I always had a feeling that my pronunciation and grammar weren’t good enough and I was afraid to speak. With children who come to Helen Doron that is never a problem. They feel free to learn, speak and explore; they get the feeling that they matter, they develop self-esteem, and most importantly of all, they have fun, laugh and sing while learning.

Here in Helen Doron children actually enjoy learning.  Being a Helen Doron teacher has changed my life for the better.”
