The New York Times Reports on the Advantages of Bilingualism

 

A new article in the New York Times reports on recent research into the many advantages of bilingualism – and especially for bilingualism in children. The article, titled Why Bilinguals are Smarter, appeared in the Times on 17 March 2012. It recounts a number of recent studies which confirm that bilingual children gain important cognitive advantages from their linguistic skills. It is an interesting, well documented article, and it backs up what Helen Doron has been teaching for over 25 years.
